Premature Adjudication

We're a bunch of law students who all live together and want to write a blog. Well, only three of us want to write, but the others may pop in occasionally. We have no true purpose, but I bet you'll see a lot about sports, current events, and general randomness. Don't worry bar admissions people we are both of high moral character and physically fit.

This Just In... College Age Males Visit Strip Club

In case you haven't heard, seven members of the University of Colorado golf team got suspended for going to a strip club while on a team trip out in California. Apparently they drove over 100 miles to go to one in San Francisco, which says just about everything I need to know about college golfers.

I'm sure these guys would love to thank their own football team, Duke Lacrosse, Baylor Basketball, Mike Price, Larry Eustachy, and a host of other idiotic student athletes/coaches for going so far overboard with their miscreant behavior that now a simple trip to a strip club (where nothing illegal happened, not even drinking) is considered a suspendable offense. We wouldn't want to think that these boys were doing anything improper, like acting like guys or something.

Of course, ESPN read the report on SportsCenter this morning so that they can set up yet another Outside the Lines for Bob Ley... "College Students Who Act Normal."

You left out the fact that they won the tournament. First win in two years! Goooo team! Strippers on coach!

Great, except it can't be pushed under the rug at a school where the football team just had to fire it's team of "in-house" strippers, even if it was just the golf team.

If only the NCAA didn't have that little rule against players going to "alcoholic establishments" on road trips...

Article says that they went to an 18 and over strip club that didn't serve alcohol.

I'd like to know who the 40 people in the poll are who think that the team should cancel the season over this. Reactionary much?

I imagine there is a rule against going to strip clubs as well. Road trips are different from being at home, and the NCAA has some ability to govern conduct on the road. I think the NCAA rules are published online. A good blogger would find out and post.

But, that may be the weirdest part of the whole story. Who's ever heard of a strip club that does not serve alcohol?

Again, if you read the article, it says that the Colorado brass said that no NCAA rules were violated. They were suspended by the university who is afraid to look bad in the wake of other bad behavior. Just an unfortunate knee-jerk reaction.

And I'm not that good of a blogger Anna, but nice name.
